JON RAUHOUSE
JON RAUHOUSE
Raised on Easter Island in the Southern Pacific, his destiny as the next tribal chief was derailed when he was struck on his ample head by an eleven-pound coconut. His three weeks of recovery were characterized by feverish rantings about Santo & Johnny and Speedy & Jimmy and cross-dressing. When fully recovered, Jon was uncontrollably lured to the rusty pedal steel guitar that laid for years in the hold of a World War II cargo plane that had crashed on the wrong side of the island many decades before. His playing was flawless; technically proficient, yet totally swashbuckling and swoony. The rest of the islanders quickly grew tired of his noodling and persistent good nature and threw him and his instrument into a hastily constructed out rigger canoe, and cast him from the island. Eventually, Jon found his way to the brown air that shrouds Phoenix and started his career as a stand in for Alice Cooper's snake.

The 70's saw Jon being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1975. It was his soothing and tropical guitar wizardry that helped set an amicable tone during the negotiations between Henry Kissinger and Le Duc Tho to end the Vietnam War. Henry, being the 20th Century's biggest jackass refused, however, to share the award three ways. (Just one more reason to hate the man). His ego bruised, Jon spent the remainder of the decade defending his enthusiasm for the trend of "streaking."

Currently, he spends his free time justifying the six acres of lush, green lawn he maintains at his Phoenix hacienda.

The keepers at the Bloodshot asylum first noticed him playing with the Grievous Angels. A steel guitar player in a rock band?? Hell YES!!!! His hunched over demeanor and the madman gleam in his eye told us that we had found a kindred spirit.

Since then, Jon has lent his considerable talents to tours and recordings by Neko Case, Sally Timms, Kelly Hogan, Calexico, the Waco Brothers, and Giant Sand. Let’s not forget that the steel guitar and Hawaiian guitar are HARD to play, and he makes it look so easy.

He is also revered in Nottingham, England. Seriously.
PHOENIX AFROBEAT ORCHESTRA

THE SENATORS
THE SENATORS
Phoenix-based indie start-up ‘the Senators’ are a new face of the Arizona music scene, but are already receiving national attention. Rooted in years of collaborative songwriting between the Teer brothers – Jesse & Rooster – the project came together in the summer of 2012.

The Senators have fashioned a sound that harkens back to the early Folk, Americana and back-beat Country while maintaining a spirited and relevant edge… with songwriting that is innovative and refreshing, but at the same time rooted deep in rich tradition.

The Senators first full-length release ‘Harsher Than Whiskey/Sweeter Than Wine’ is now available on iTunes & select online retailers. Singles from the album include ‘the Sea and Its Floor’, ‘the London Bridge’ and title track ‘Harsher Than Whiskey’.
BRIAN CHARTRAND
BRIAN CHARTRAND
Chartrand, a Massachusetts native, has called Phoenix his home for over eleven years. Since his arrival in 2003, Brian has spearheaded many musical endeavors including the critically-acclaimed, international touring band The Sweet Remains, his production show “Live from Laurel Canyon: Songs and Stories of American Folk Rock” which has sold out its last 5 performances at the Musical Instrument Museum Theater, and The Voce Project, his all-star Arizona band. The Voce Project focuses on Brian’s solo material which lies somewhere between James Taylor and John Mayer; a smooth acoustic guitar style matched by an equally smooth vocal style blending elements of folk, alt country, and jazz. The band features Brian (acoustic guitar/vocals), Adam Armijo (electric guitar), Lamar Gaines (keys), Mario Mendivil (bass), Mike Florio (drums), and Todd Chuba (percussion)

THE SUNPUNCHERS
THE SUNPUNCHERS
The SunPunchers are a true acoustic band with a unique outlaw cabaret sound featuring Betsy Ganz on guitar and lead vocals. The band is currently in the process of recording and mixing their first EP (which also features Jon Rauhouse of Neko Case) at 513 Analog Studios. Keep an eye out for this up and coming act.
JIM BACHMANN
JIM BACHMANN
With a mellow, easy voice and unrefined, yet wise songwriting that hints of a life of honest living -Jim Bachmann has been entertaining the phoenix scene and gaining momentum over the past few years. With an ear on Billy Joe Shaver, and the other on Kristofferson, Bachmann's music blends Americana and Outlaw-Country into a sound that stays true to tradition.

AMERICAN LONGSPURS
AMERICAN LONGSPURS
Hailing from the American southwest, American Longspurs deliver their brand of country rock from the sweltering streets of Phoenix, Arizona. Formed by childhood friends and lifelong musical partners Zachary Zimmerman and Drew Switzer, American Longspurs evoke the sounds of yesterday's outlaw country legends Waylon Jennings and Johnny Paycheck while drawing comparisons to today's Americana superstars such as Drive-By Truckers and Ryan Bingham. With Chester Carmer, Nick Pawlowski and John Churchill rounding out the band in 2014 the Longspurs hit the stage hard including an appearance at the Country Thunder music festival alongside Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, The Band Perry, Easton Corbin and more. The year was highlighted, however, by the release of their sophomore EP Palo Santo. "While many artists seem to pay lip service to respecting classic country music, that’s not always evident in their sound. Fortunately, that’s not the case with American Longspurs. Frequently plain-spoken, sometimes poetic, Palo Santo provides a soundtrack for wanderers" (Carolyn Dixon, Goodnight Hestia). Proving there is indeed no rest for the wicked, American Longspurs kicked off 2015 with the release of their latest single Whiskey Feelin' which is available now on all major online music stores and streaming applications. The boys are currently hard at work writing and recording new material for a follow-up release expected out late 2015.
