"Let's make a 12-inch single together" was the first email Nujabes sent in the year 2000, when Shing02 was living in the Bay Area. Over the next decade, the Japanese duo went on to create the epic Luv(sic) Hexalogy, a 6-part saga dedicated to the goddess of music. Part2 was recorded in the aftermath of 9/11, while Part3 was an ode recorded during the vast commercialization of the hip hop industry. Then the untimely passing of Jun Seba aka Nujabes in February of 2010 led Shing02 to record and release parts 4-6 with the help of Uyama Hiroto, who was Nujabes' go-to guy for live arrangements. Now, teamed up with the dynamic Manchester-based OMA, and Shing02's trusted turntable maestro SPIN MASTER A-1, the Luv(sic) Hexalogy will come to life on stage sans samples and full of live textures that the audiences of Nujabes tributes in the past have come accustomed to.

Introducing OMA, a four-piece instrumental sensation hailing from the rich musical landscape of Manchester, England. With an undeniable flair for hip-hop, OMA have carved their own path in the music scene, catching the attention of fans globally through innovative reimaginings of hip-hop classics on popular social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
During 2023, OMA shared stages with TDE phenomena Isaiah Rashad, backing him up across both Europe and America. Since then, they have continued to make waves, releasing their debut album ‘Bread ’n’ Butter’ (itself a compilation of their widely acclaimed hip-hop covers) and collaborating and performing with Taboo (Black Eyed Peas), Harry Mack, Shing02, SiR, and southern hip-hop legend Bun B, of UGK.

Now, as an exciting young band on the precipice of their musical evolution, OMA is poised to redirect their creative energy towards crafting original, cutting-edge music. With a fusion of instrumental prowess and an adventurous spirit, keep your eyes on OMA as they hustle their way through 2024.

Born in Tokyo, raised in Tanzania and England, Shing02 came up in the independent SF Bay Area scene in the early 90's. Over the course of his independent career starting in 1995, he has collaborated with various DJs and musicians, most notably with the late Japanese producer Nujabes.
