The Opera is a 6 piece art punk band from Austin, Texas. Formed in the spring of 2024, the band consists of members from other notable local bands such as Lady Dan, Lluvi, Loveme, and Modernform. In the short time that they’ve been active, the band has already made big impressions by opening for bands such as Xiu Xiu and Valgur, all while keeping an ambiguous social media presence.

The band is lead by singer Tyler Dozier, who has established herself in the Austin scene as the singer/songwriter also known as Lady Dan, and producer Ernesto Grey, who has worked with other up and coming bands such as Font, Farmer’s Wife, Loveme, and more. They’re gearing up to release their debut single, “Crystallized”, on January 24th and will celebrate the release with a show at Empire Control Room on January 25th. The band is eager to keep the momentum going and will release their debut EP in the summer of 2025.
