RAC

Andre Anjos launched RAC while still a student at Greenville College, a small school of about 1,500 students
in Southern Illinois, known primarily for its music program. “It was Thanksgiving break, 2006. I just started
contacting people, and then for probably a good six months, trying to get some kind of remix job. I probably
annoyed a lot of people.” A study in persistence, he finally got the ear of The Shins’ manager, who had never
before been approached about a remix for the band, but was open to the idea. The subsequent “Sleeping
Lessons” remix landed RAC a B-side on the band’s UK single.
“I was insanely lucky with that one,” Anjos says of The Shins’ gig. “I need to call them, and, like, thank
them.” Since that break, RAC has climbed the indie ranks and gone on to remix some of the biggest artists in
the world, including Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kings of Leon, and U2. Anjos has also become a much sought-after
score- and sync-man. He has remixed and produced original music for television (Entourage, 90210, How To
Make It In America), film (soundtrack for 2010 Sundance selection Holy Rollers), and advertisements – even
landing a Super Bowl ad.
“It’s gone beyond just remixes,” Anjos says. “I’m doing all kinds of other things now.”
RAC’s debut original single, “Hollywood,” featured vocalist Penguin Prison and was released in the spring of
2012 via the Mountain Dew curated record label, Green Label Sound. The track immediately took off,
topping all four charts on Hype Machine at once, going to #1 on Elbo.ws and breaking all previous Green
Label Sound download records in its first week. Likewise the cowboy-in-LA music video with a cameo by
Quentin Tarantino muse Rose McGowan and two remix packages including yet another Hype Machine chart
topper by The Magician kept RAC in the spotlight throughout the summer and fall.
RAC can currently be found preparing his debut artist album for release in 2013 as well as a compilation of
greatest remix hits from the last four years entitled “RAC Chapter One” for release in November 2012.

PENGUIN PRISON (DJ Set w/ Live Vocals)

Even if you never find out what a Penguin Prison is, there's no denying Chris Glover aka Penguin Prison has made a brilliant record. If you're a fan of New York disco, as accessible as it is angular, all burbling bass lines, resonant rhythms, shimmering synths and heavenly melodies, then you'll love the new Penguin Prison album.
Imagine, if you will, Chic produced by James Murphy, or a collaboration between Prince and The Human League. It is some measure of Penguin Prison's skills in the studio, on vocals and in terms of songwriting, that such illusory marvels have been achieved on this superb self-titled collection, that some critics have gone as far as to hail it a modern day Off The Wall masterpiece.
"It's not a concept album about Michael," says Prison, or maybe we should call him Penguin, of his all-time hero "But it's definitely been influenced by him."
To say he was an early starter would be an understatement. From the age of 10 he was singing in the local gospel choir. When he was 11, he got an agent and began recording jingles. By 12, he had learned to play guitar and was into punk rock, the American variety – bands such as Green Day, NOFX and Bad Religion. He even performed as a teen at the legendary CBGBs with his band The Museum.
Chris became Penguin Prison at the start of 2009. It wasn't long before he earned a reputation as remixer du jour for the likes of Marina and the Diamonds, Goldfrapp and Passion Pit. He agrees that he conferred NY kudos especially on the British artists, and admits his favorite remix was for Jamiroquai, adding that the secret to a good remix is "to throw everything away from the original track and start from scratch".
It was inevitable that Chris would then make music of his own, which he began in late 2009. You can hear the spectacular results on the debut Penguin Prison album, which sounds to all intents and purposes like a Greatest Hits collection, so chock-full it is of catchy hooks and classic pop choruses. There is Multi-Millionaire, which is about "being rich even if you've got no money" and one titled Don't Fuck With My Money that features Jackson-style percussive gasps and a lyric that pushes the envelope. "I was worried it was too crazy – 'Can I really say that?' People said leave it in, so I did. "All my lyrics are sarcastic but serious as well," he adds. "So I'm really saying 'don't fuck with my money'! Because if you try to, it's not going to be good…"

BLAQUE PANTHER DISCO

Coco Disco from Dijon, France. Heiress to the Dijon mustard dynasty.
Jean-Claude Disco from Châlons-en-Champagne, France. Heir to the Perrier-Jouet dynasty.
Both had wanderlust fantasies of moving to Paris, the city of luster, lights, and love!
Jean-Claude left his family estate driving his two seater 1955 mercedes benz 300sl gullwing coupe with a trunk full of his families finest reserve champagne on a quest to manifest his destiny--to delver his disco-tinged dreams to the world.
There was only one thing missing--his muse for music.
Deciding to explore the many regions of France to discover the missing link before landing at his final destination in Paris he visited the city of Dijon. It was here while driving through the beautiful streets the breathtaking young blonde beauty who could only be known as Coco caught his eye. With her glittering golden afro catching every ray of light, her on foot dancing through the streets. Jean-Claude knew he had found the one.
Immediately, he slowed his roll, ate a mentos, and asked coyly, "excuse me, do you have any Grey Pupon"
At which she replied ever so gently, "why, monsieur, funny you should ask. Why, yes. Yes I do."
As she extended her slender arm and the golden rays of light illuminated her fair skin, he knew, she was the one.
Coco was her name and disco was her game. As any gentlemen would, Jean-Claude offered the wind-swept, blonde beauty a refreshing effervescent afternoon delight. After all, it was 5 o'clock somewhere.
In exchange, a picnic in the park on the most perfect day ever, was agreed upon.
Hours passed, and discussions of artistic expression ensued. Coco began to sing softly in her native tongue and it was at this precise moment that Jean-Claude knew that Coco was the missing element he had sought for so long.
It didn't take long for Jean-Claude to convince Coco to run away with him to form what would become the most regal disco duo Paris would ever know.
And after traveling to Paris, Black Panther Disco was born on the steps of Montmarte.
