It would be reasonable to suspect a band who borrowed their name from the works of Friedrich Nietzsche might just be yet another pretentious act arriving on the scene but, when it comes to the rock and rhythm duo IAMDYNAMITE, it would be safer to assume the exact opposite. In truth, the choosing of the name might just be a perfect example of the bandʼs playful and self-effacing sense of humor. At first listen it becomes clear, IAMDYNAMITE, with their thunderous beats and crunching power chords, are actually the antipretentious and with American cynicism at an all time high, the timing of their arrival could not be more perfect.

IAMDYNAMITE are Christopher Martin (Guitar, Vox) and Chris Phillips (Drums/Vox).
They honed their sound and vision while coming up in the rock scene of Detroit, MI and
with countless college shows throughout the Midwest.

Armed with a single guitar and basic drum kit, IAMDYNAMITE have quickly
established themselves as a rock and roll force to be reckoned with. The musicianship is
solid, the tunes are irresistible and infectious and their energy on stage has been
appropriately described as "feverishly fun". The band's distinctive sound is influenced, in
part, by what Drummer Chris Phillips calls "the power rock of the 90s", while Guitarist/
Lead Vocalist Christopher Martin points to "strong melodies and lots of energy" as a
primary focus for the songwriting. Though some may assume a band made up of only
two instruments might be rather limited, the big explosion of sound they bring to the
stage has inspired more than a few critics to observe, "IAMDYNAMITE are two guys
who sound like five".

In 2008 IAMDYNAMITE caught the ears of uber producer Matt Noveskey, which
eventually led to Noveskey producing the band's first EP. In 2010 Noveskey presented
the EP to Paul Nugent and Mike Swinford founders of Austin, Texas based Indie Label
Brando Records and Rainmaker Artists. The band was immediately signed and entered
the studio to re-record tracks from the EP and add new songs to create a full-length debut

Iamdynamite played SXSW in 2011 blowing the roof off a tiny club on 6th street, flooring
a packed room full of industry know-it-all's. How could two people sound like five?
The band returned to the studio to add the finishing touches and chose Jay Rustin to mix
what would become SUPERMEGAFANTASTIC.

SUPERMEGAFANTASTIC was recorded at Willie Nelson's famous Pedernales
Recording Studio in Spicewood, TX, in the Hill Country outside of Austin. For both the
producer and band, Nelson's studio proved to be the perfect creative environment for the
task at hand, Noveskey offers, "It was really great, it's detached from everything, out in
the middle of nowhere and it's got this really cool vibe that allowed us the opportunity to
get lost in our own little world. We really wanted to do it old school, two weeks straight
with minimal distractions."

Noveskey's objective in producing the album was simple, he explains "We didn't want to
do something they wouldn't be able to pull off live and we didn't want to do something
that didn't sound like them, the live show is so energetic and we really wanted the album
to be a true representation of that, which is why we recorded on analog tape with very
minimal layering." As for the band's unique sound Noveskey believes the vocals are key,
"The harmonies are sort of the nucleus of the whole thing really, sure you've got the
bombastic drums and the big 70s guitar but the harmonies are really what this band is all
about, there are seemingly shades of The Police, Weezer, Modest Mouse and the Beach
Boys SUPERMEGAFANTASTIC includes the irresistible "Stereo", the dirty blues infused
shredder "Ms. Jones", the infectious crowd pleasing "Hi Lo" and the urgent rocker
"Where Will We Go", a tune that drives so hard it should come with the disclaimer,
Warning: Song may inspire speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour.

SUPERMEGAFANTASTIC was released on June 5th, 2012. Jim McGuinn at KCMP in
Minneapolis fell in love with the album and started spinning "Stereo" with great success.
The Detroit based band then rolled into Minneapolis for the first time and SOLD OUT 7th
Street Entry. The KCMP "Stereo" airplay was obviously reacting. In the November
2012 Brando Records released "Where Will We Go" as the first single to Modern Rock
Radio. PD Chisty Taylor at 91X in San Diego started spinning "Where Will We Go" in
December 2012 and it shot straight to #1 on the playlist for 5 weeks. Other programmers
began embracing the sound and "Where Will We Go" jumped into the Top 40 of the
Modern Rock Chart where it still resides in February 2013.

The bands true strength is it's live performance. No supplemental recordings are used in
their live show. Just big warm guitar tones, driving drums and very melodic vocals.
Iamdynamite has been touring non-stop inspiring and entertaining audiences from coast
to coast supporting national tours for both Blue October and Sum41, two very different
artists both of whom's audiences have passionately embraced Iamdynamite's pure
driving melodic sound.

In addition to touring in the USA, Iamdynamite has already broken ground in Germany
with two different club tours, returning for a third tour this time headlining in March
2013. After Europe its back on the road to headline a US club tour in April 2013.
The buzz on IAMDYNAMITE has been generating on the road is more than evident
online. Nearly every day, the band's Facebook and Twitter accounts grow substantially
with "likes" and raves from new fans who saw the dynamite duo the night before and the
iTunes downloads of their new album, SUPERMEGAFANTASTIC, are also increasing
dramatically as a result. IAMDYNAMITE's front man Christopher Martin puts it into
perspective, "It's really been great, we're playing so many cities we've never played
before and the response has been amazing. We've always been a "word of mouth" band
and that's still the case, just on a much bigger scale. We're not overhyped by a big label
push, we're just laying some great groundwork on the road, which seems like a really
natural way to do it, people are talking and that's really awesome, it's always cooler when
you first hear about a new band from a friend."
Satellite towns tend to breed big ambitions. Perched on the hills above Manchester, Macclesfield's principle claim to fame comes in the cult of Ian Curtis. That classic example of the 'just out of the city' boy reinforces how big horizons tend to breed big ambitions.

The Virginmarys are not part of the Curtis club. Their music blends the dynamics of platinum class 'grunge' (basically Nirvana, Mudhoney and Screaming Trees) with the spikiness of punk and the attention to detail and honesty of prime British rock of the early 1970's, before the wizards and capes overcame the attack and dynamic. Their belief system begins with a devotion to the idea of playing. Live or in rehearsals, the three are at their most comfortable instruments in hand. Whether this is cool or not in a world where we sometimes seem to want our bands to devote themselves to studiously not playing is of no consequence to them. So, the debut album, 'King Of Conflict', was recorded live in the studio with Toby Jepson producing and Chris Sheldon (Pixies, Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, etc) at the mixing controls to capture the band at their thrilling best.

But this is not 'muso' territory. Whilst Ally may have learnt his playing via a local blues maestro and lived in a house sound tracked by the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Free and The Allman Bros courtesy of his dad, the revelation of Nirvana and the digging backwards to punk and forwards to the diverse likes of Elbow and Arcade Fire meant that when Ally, Matt and Danny set out to write rock songs, those were never likely to be dumb, despite being a hell of a lot of fun. Further, Ally's nature and his position as lyricist pretty much guaranteed that The Virginmarys would share much in common with those bands who eschewed the brainless cartoons of metal to create a rock music that used its words to deal with real life, real feelings and serious subjects. So a typical song from the trio rocks as hard as anything you are likely to hear but can talk about making the wrong calls despite yourself ('Dead Man's Shoes), domestic violence from the less thought out position of male as victim ('Portrait Of Red') and anti-capitalism ('You've Got Your Money').

It's that blend of rock schooling and intelligence that makes The Virginmarys such a thrilling proposition. Unlike so many contemporaries, the three are unlikely to fall into any of the obvious traps that bedevil young bands in their world. Having spent three years touring and playing alongside a series of self-released EP's the band have built a fan base that encompasses the likes of Slash (a regular VM's T shirt wearer), We Are Scientists, Eagles Of Death Metal and Ash, all of whom have invited the band to support them and thousands of devoted fans across the globe. In the process they have featured on BBC Breakfast, scored an iTunes single of the week both in the UK and US, had a track featured on Rockband 3 and sold out London's Garage at a canter as part of HMV's Next Big Thing series of shows at the close of 2011.

Those beginnings have fostered a band that are ambitious without being arrogant, Ally claims that honesty is at the heart of everything he does, Danny wants The Virginmarys to be a catalyst for new bands to form and create great new music and Matt sees success as blowing away the dross that currently populates daytime radio and creating a world in which their music, and that like it, makes the music world an exciting place to be once more.

In a world crying out for a band with substance, The Virginmarys could well prove to be the answer to all our prayers.
Zero Zero is an electro-fuzz-pop project by Nicole Laurenne and Michael Johnny Walker (both of The Love Me Nots), and drummer Nick Ramirez (The Dead Eyes of London, Beezlewood, Butcher Jones).

Original tracks are currently in production, influenced by Sleigh Bells, The Sneaker Pimps, Santigold, Beck, and the Ting Tings. An October 2012 debut EP release is planned on Atomic A Go Go Records. An early demo recording of "Drug" went into rotation on Phoenix radio unexpectedly in June 2012 when Laurenne gave the demo to a disc jockey during a live interview. Two demos are now spinning on independent specialty radio shows out of San Francisco, Boise, and Berlin.

As the team behind garage rock act The Love Me Nots, Laurenne and Walker have written and released five albums, toured the world, appeared in feature stories in Rolling Stone, Spin, Village Voice, Austin Chronicle, LA Weekly, and UK's Classic Rock, among many others, achieved regular rotation on Sirius/XM Radio and commercial radio specialty shows worldwide, and saw their entire discography re-released by french label Bad Reputation Records. Laurenne was named Best Frontperson of 2010 by The Arizona Republic and Walker was featured in Fender's The Soul of Tone video. Laurenne and Walker continue to collaborate with many other artists on on-going projects.
