THE THROUGH & THROUGH GOSPEL REVIEW
THE THROUGH & THROUGH GOSPEL REVIEW
Biography
I mainly play and sing and write for the band Gospel Claws, but in my spare time wrote and recorded this album off and on over a period of 5 years.
Description
I recorded a Gospel album using a computer, 1970's reel to reel tape machine and a cassette recorder. It was mastered by Bob Hoag at Flying Blanket Recording in Mesa, AZ. the album is on itunes or here http://thethroughthroughgospelreview.bandcamp.com/album/the-through-through-gospel-review
WHAT LAURA SAYS
WHAT LAURA SAYS
“If the modern catma of this movement involving love and peace and other new-age dorkisms dictate that a certain inevitable inevitability inevitably happens, then I should be, and very well should be, smiting the worries of speaking thinking and feeling the mind.
But, alas, that takes substance. And in this day and age, substance is a supersized uncommon commonality defined by the fat in your tank and the gas on your ass. It makes too much sense. We are too reasonably rational and rationally reasonable.
This art, however, makes sense because it doesn’t make any sense at all. That’s real, baby. A nice reminder that you are indeed breathing for freedom, but you is still starving. That’s right-on, friends.
So take what laura says thinks and feels as a refreshing reminder, because she probably won’t stop anytime soon.”
an excerpt from the novella "Peacetime in Wellington" by Dr. Elysium Ferry

GOSPEL CLAWS
GOSPEL CLAWS
Tempe, AZ-based indie rock outfit Gospel Claws was formed in 2007 by guitarist/vocalist and founding member of rootsy indie rockers Dear and the Headlights, Joel Marquard, vocalist/keyboardist Sloan Walters, guitarist Wesley Hilsabeck, bassist John Mulhern, and drummer Scott Hall. The band's soulful, earthy blend of bluesy indie rock and wild, desert folk has drawn comparisons to everyone from Fleet Foxes and Delta Spirit to Local Natives and the Black Keys. Gospel Claws' eponymous debut EP appeared in 2010.
~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi

Gospel Claws debut LP is going to be released on October 26th, 2010

Praise for C-L-A-W-S:
This is gospel, because even their summer teenage party song sounds righteous, monumental, and holy. This is remarkable complex indie pop that makes you want to convert to whatever church or cult they are running. - roctober.com
LADYLIKE
LADYLIKE
The quirky pomp and camp that is Ladylike began when former bandmates Rob Kroehler (vocals, guitar, piano) and Ryan Casey (guitar, banjo) went underway looking for new musicians to join their creative escapades. That same year, Alex Tighe (keyboards, etc.) and Ethan Hillis (drums) moved home to Phoenix looking for the same thing. Through a culmination of studio sessions and live rehearsals, Ladylike was formed and a three-song EP (Ladylike, Vol. 1) was released. One year later, Ladylike locked down their final permanent member, Austin Owen (bass) and began working on their distinguished sound.

By April 2011, Ladylike hit the road to record their self-titled debut album in Eudora, Kansas at Blacklodge Recording with engineer-producer Nick Day. The album calls-to- mind a wide array of influences–from 50s pop to 90s Brit rock. Its first single, Cinema Kiss, was released in November 2011. Ladylike has taken the stage with national acts such as Fun., Squeeze, Kopecky Family Band, and Young the Giant. With pop-oriented, harmony-laden tunes, Ladylike brings a sense of unbridled charisma that sticks with their audiences.

Ladylike’s LP hit the shelves (and the web) in early April 2012.
